how to prepare vermi compost

सुने

The use of vermi compost improves crop yields. In addition, the fertility of the fields increases. Vermi compost means that earthworm manure does not smell and mosquitoes and flies do not grow. It also does not pollute the environment.

  • To make earthworm compost, choose a well ventilated place where sunlight does not come.

  • First of all make a pit 2 meters long and 1 meter wide.

  • Now mix fertile soil in half rotten cow dung and make a layer 6 inches thick.

  • After this, put 40 earthworms per square feet in it.

  • Now put a layer of leftover vegetables of the house and kitchen etc.

  • After this, sprinkle water for moisture by adding half rotten cow dung, dry leaves, straw etc.

  • Lastly, put a layer of cow dung 3-4 inches thick and cover it with a sack. With this, earthworms will be able to move up and down easily and the compost will be ready quickly.

  • After about 50 to 60 days, remove the top layer and remove the earthworms by selecting them.

  • You can use the rest of the compost, leaving the bottom layer.

  • You can make compost again with the earthworms removed.
