Some major pests of Arhar

• Pod flies: They feed on the inner grains by making a small hole on the pods of tur. This causes severe damage to the crop.

• Pod borer: It attacks the pods and damages the buds, flowers, pods and seeds.

• Bristol Brittle: This type of insect damages the crop by eating flowers and buds.

• Plu moth: Some time after the infestation of this pest, red colored mold develops around the grains.

• Pod bug: This type of insect sucks the juice of pods and grains, due to which the shape of the pods becomes oblong and the grains shrink.
