Phytophthora blight disease and its prevention in arhar crop
Angmari disease, also known as stem blight, is one of the major diseases of tur crop. This disease caused by fungus is seen more in plants from one week to one month. Apart from tur, this disease is also found in many other crops. Drizzly moist conditions and temperatures around 25 °C are favorable for infection. If you do not know the symptoms of this disease, do not worry. Through this post, you can see the symptoms of the disease as well as preventive measures.

The disease affected leaves begin to form spots.

The entire leaves are destroyed by burning within 6 to 7 days.

As the disease progresses, spots begin to form on the stems and branches of the plants. Due to which the stem and branches dry up and break.
preventive measures

Do not allow water logging in the field. Make proper drainage system.

Avoid cultivating tur in the affected area for 2-3 years.

Select healthy seeds for the cultivation of Arhar and adopt crop rotation.

Plants can be protected from this disease by treating the seeds with fungicide before sowing.

Treat the seed with 2 gm of Ridomil or Thiram per kg of seed.
-
Spraying of 400 ml Metalexil 35% WS or 600 g Mancozeb 35% SC per acre of land on early symptoms of disease in standing crop.

If required, re-spraying can be done at an interval of 10-12 days.
