• Jwalamukhi: The seed of this variety contains 42 to 44 percent oil. The height of the plant is about 160 to 170 cm. It takes 85 to 90 days for the crop to become ready. Yields from 12 to 14 quintals per acre of land.

• MSFH 4: This variety is cultivated in Rabi and Zayed season. The height of this variety of plants is 120 to 150 cm. The seed contains 42 to 44 percent oil content. Crops are ready in 90 to 95 days. Yields range from 8 to 12 quintals per acre of field.

• MSFS 8: Plants of this variety have a height of 170 to 200 cm. The seed contains 42 to 44 percent oil content. Crops are ready in 90 to 100 days. If cultivated per acre of land, about 6 to 7.2 quintals can be obtained.

Some major hybrid varieties

• KVSH 1: Plants of this variety are about 150 to 180 cm tall. This variety is suitable for late sowing. 43 to 45 percent oil content is found in the seeds. Crops are ready in 90 to 95 days. Yields from 12 to 14 quintals per acre of land.

• SH 3322: Suitable for late sowing, the height of this variety of plants ranges from 137 to 175 cm. The oil content of 40 to 42 percent is found in the seeds. It takes 90 to 95 days for the crop to become ready. If cultivated per acre of land, about 11.2 to 12 quintals can be obtained.
