Gucci is known by many names like sponge mushroom, umbrella, tatmore, dungroo etc. In Latin it is called morel mushroom. Gucci, rich in many medicinal properties, is found in the forests of Kullu, Shimla, Manali, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh in India. It contains vitamin B complex, vitamin D, vitamin C and some essential amino acids. Consuming it regularly reduces the chances of heart disease. Along with this, it is also beneficial in diseases like cancer, stones etc. Apart from India, there is a huge demand for Gucci in countries like Europe, America, France, Italy and Switzerland. Its sale in the market is 20 to 30 thousand rupees per kilogram. Its price in the international market is in lakhs. On the hills of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, after the thunder of lightning and melting of snow, the cluster grows naturally in the forests there. Being born in bushes and thick grass, finding these bunches is hard work. In such a situation, people from nearby rural areas go out into the forests to search for it since morning. Being a rarity, big companies and hotels buy them out of hand. Found in the month of February-March, this bunch is harvested in the months of April and June.
