Integrated pest: manage it this way

There are many types of pests in vegetables, fruits and other crops. Which has a direct impact on the yield and quality of crops. Control of various pests is necessary for good yield. Many a times, due to lack of correct information, it becomes very difficult to control the pests. If you too are worried due to various pests in agriculture and crops, then read this post carefully.   • Fruit fly: Due to the infestation of fruit fly, holes start appearing in the fruits. The caterpillars of this insect destroy the fruits by eating them from inside. The shape of the affected fruits becomes distorted. As the outbreak progresses, the fruits begin to rot. To control this pest, pluck and destroy the affected fruits. Install 6-8 pheromone traps per acre of land. Spray with 2 ml Malathion per liter of water. Re-spray if required at an interval of 8 to 10 days.

  • Juice sucking insects: Insects like Thrips, Mighty, Mahu, Dhauliya insect, Moyla, damage the crop by sucking the sap of plants. Spraying with 1 ml imidacloprid per liter of water can be used to control mahu pest. Apart from this, 50 ml country hawk can be sprayed in 150 liters of water.

  • Red spider: Due to the infestation of this pest, the leaves of the affected plants turn yellow and dry up and a fine web appears on the plants. Brown spots appear on the fruits. The surface of affected fruits becomes rough. For biological control of this pest, spray 2 ml neem-containing insecticide like Nimbecidin or Neemol Neemgold per liter of water. Apart from this, sprinkle 3% neem oil.
