• This disease occurs due to favorable weather, extreme cold and excess moisture.

• The roots of the diseased plants start rotting.

• Plants die as the disease progresses.

• This disease usually occurs in nurseries or in small plants.

preventive measures

• To avoid this disease, do not allow water logging in nursery and in main field.

• Make proper drainage system.

• At about 24 hours before sowing, treat seed with 2.5 gm Carbendazim or Thiram per kg.

• After this also treat with 2 grams of Trichoderma viridi per kg of seed.
