Sesame is a versatile crop. It is mainly used for oil extraction. Along with this, it is also used in making many types of dishes. Sesame cake is used as a better food for animals. Its major producing states include Gujarat , Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. If you also want to do sesame cultivation, then it is very important for you to know about the preparation of the field and the method of sowing.

Sesame seed is very small in size. Therefore, it is necessary to have friable soil for its cultivation. Seed germination is good in friable soil.

For sesame cultivation, do deep ploughing once with a soil-reversing plow.

After this, do light plowing 2-3 times. It is better to do light tillage with a native plow or cultivator.

At the time of plowing add 200 kg of cow dung per acre of field. The use of cow dung manure in the field increases the yield.

At the time of final tillage, apply 12 kg of nitrogen, 16 kg of phosphorus and 8 kg of potash per acre of field.

Neem cake can also be sprayed in the field before sowing.

Spray 12 kg of nitrogen per acre of land in hard crop 30-35 days after sowing.
