सुने

Many crops like mango, litchi, lemon, orange, papaya, olive, cotton, jowar, etc. are badly affected by ash-like mold. This fungal disease is also called soot disease or kajali disease in many areas. This also adversely affects the growth of plants. Read this post carefully to know the damage and control measures caused by this harmful disease.

cause of disease

  • The sap-sucking insects secrete honeydew on the leaves and other parts of the plant. Ash mildew grows easily on this honeydew.

  • Where there is no sunlight, these fungi grow more.

  • Various insects and ants work to spread this fungus from one plant to another.

  • Sooty molds survive for a long time in plant parts.

symptom of disease

  • Its infestation occurs on stems, twigs and leaves.

  • Black colored molds appear on the leaves and branches affected by ash mildew.

  • Gradually the entire leaves are covered with dark black fungus.

  • As the disease progresses, the leaves start falling and the growth of the plants is hindered.

Control Methods

  • Plants get proper amount of sunlight, so it is necessary to have sufficient distance between all the plants.

  • To prevent this disease from spreading, it is very important to control the sucking pest. For this, sprinkle 50 ml country hawk in 150 liters of water.

  • To get rid of mildew disease like ash, sprinkle 25 to 30 grams of countryside full stop in 15 liters of water.

  • Spraying a mixture of neem oil is also an effective method of control.

  • For biological control, mix 1 tablespoon soap in 5 liters of water and spray it on the affected areas. This will allow the soap solution to stick well on the plants. The fungus can then be removed by washing it with clean water.
