Complete information about the cultivation of berseem

Barseem is a major crop used as animal feed. It is very nutritious for animals. Its taste is also better than other fodder crops, only then animals also eat it with great fervor. It grows quickly and its cultivation also increases the fertilizer capacity of the soil. Therefore, by cultivating Berseem, farmers can earn more profit in less time. soil and climate

  • Heavy soil is best suited for its cultivation.

  • If there is good irrigation facility then it can be cultivated in light loamy soil also.

  • While selecting the field, keep in mind that the water holding capacity of the soil is better.

  • Better crop can be obtained if cultivated in cold climate.

Field preparation and amount of fertilizer

  • First of all, do deep plowing of the field 1 time with soil turning plow.

  • After this, do light plowing 3 to 4 times with harrow or cultivator.

  • After plowing, plant a pad in the field. This will level the soil of the field.

  • Mix 10 kg nitrogen, 32 kg phosphorus and 8 kg potash per acre of field.

  • In light soils, give irrigation at intervals of 3 to 5 days.

  • In heavy soils give irrigation at 6 to 8 days interval.

  • Irrigation should be done at an interval of 10 to 12 days in cold season.

  • If you are cultivating in summer season then irrigate at the interval of 8 to 10 days.

harvesting

  • Take the first harvest about 50 to 55 days after sowing.

  • After this, keep harvesting it at an interval of 25 to 30 days.

  • Harvesting should be done at an interval of 35 to 40 days during the summer season.

  • Harvest the crop at a height of 5 to 7 cm from the ground surface.
