There are many types of eggplants. There is a huge difference between the plants and fruits of all types of eggplant. The color of eggplant varies from purple to white , green and pink. They are round, oval, elongated and pear shaped. There are mainly the following types of eggplants.

  • Swarna Shakti: It is a hybrid variety of brinjal. This variety of brinjal is considered to be the best in terms of yield. A brinjal weighs between 150 to 200 grams and is purple in color. About 700 to 750 quintals of brinjal can be obtained per hectare of land.

  • Golden Pratibha: The brinjals of this species are large in size and tall, bright purple in color. About 600 to 650 quintals of brinjal can be obtained per hectare of land.

  • Swarna Shree: Its plants are 60 to 70 cm tall. Its leaves are broad. The eggplants of this species are oval and white in color. The yield of brinjal is about 550 to 600 quintals per hectare of land.

  • Golden Brunette: The brinjals grown in this type of plants are round and green in color. There are white stripes on the top of the eggplant. Brinjal can be obtained from plants about 35 to 40 days after planting it. About 600 to 650 quintals of brinjal can be obtained per hectare of land.

  • Golden Gem: Its leaves are purple in color and the length of the plant is about 70 to 80 cm. The weight of one brinjal is about 200 to 300 grams. About 600 to 650 quintals of brinjal are produced per hectare of land.
