prenatal abortifacient disease

Female animals are prone to many diseases. One of which is abortion disease. Abortion is the exit of a living or dead embryo from the female body before the completion of pregnancy in animals. Due to this, see the symptoms and prevention measures from here.

Why do animals have abortions?

  • The main reason for this is injury or any kind of trauma to the female animals during pregnancy.

  • Hormonal imbalance during pregnancy also leads to miscarriage.

  • Apart from this, due to bacterial, viral or parasitic infection in animals, abortion is also done.

What are the symptoms of miscarriage?

  • Animals are restless in the event of a miscarriage.

  • The affected animal's vagina releases fluid, which can sometimes be foul-smelling and blood-tinged.

  • Sometimes the underdeveloped embryo may come out alive or dead.

  • Sometimes the germ remains inside at the time of abortion.

How to do treatment?

  • After abortion in female animals, if the germ remains inside, it should be taken out and the uterus should be cleaned thoroughly with antiseptic medicine such as sevlon, betadine or potassium permanganate solution.

  • Antibiotic tablets or bolus such as Furia, Steclean or Terramycin should be injected into the uterus of female animals.

  • Along with this a course of antibiotics should be completed.

  • After a miscarriage, insert a needle of Prosalvin or PGF-2 alpha to remove the remaining material in the uterus. If necessary, re-injection can be done after 10 to 12 days.

  • These drugs are also used to induce abortions in animals.

  • Once a miscarriage occurs, it is likely to happen again and again. Therefore it is very important to get proper treatment.

  • For the prevention of miscarriage, it is beneficial to give 10 tablets of leptadine twice a day for two months after conception.
