It can be cultivated in both irrigated and rainfed areas. Its fruits have less thorns and the seeds contain 48 percent oil. An average yield of 4.8 to 7.2 quintals is obtained per acre of land. This variety is resistant to uttha disease and root rot disease.
RHC1 : It is one of the hybrid varieties. It can be cultivated in both irrigated and unirrigated areas. Better crop can be obtained by cultivating this variety in saline and alkaline areas also. The seed has 49.3 percent oil content. In irrigated areas, the yield per acre of land ranges from 12.8 to 14.4 quintals. In this variety, the outbreak of Uktha disease is less.
Kranti: Seeds of this variety have 50% oil content. It takes 130 to 150 days for the crop to mature. You can get 6.4 to 7.2 quintals of production per acre of land. This variety is tolerant to uktha disease.
Jwala 48-1 : It is thornless variety. The seed has 48.5 percent oil content. Crops are ready in about 140 to 160 days. Generally yields range from 6.4 to 7.2 quintals per acre of field.
