Being one of the major spices, cumin is always in demand. Its seeds are small, so irrigating cumin crop is a difficult task. If you are cultivating cumin then from here you can get information related to cumin irrigation.

When to irrigate?

  • Give first irrigation immediately after sowing of cumin.

  • Give second irrigation at the interval of 10 days after sowing. This makes germination easier.

  • Depending on the moisture content in the soil, if required, the third irrigation can be given at an interval of 8 to 10 days.

  • Irrigation is necessary at the time of grain formation.

  • Irrigation at the time of grain ripening helps in reducing seed weight. Therefore, at the time of ripening of grains, stop irrigation in the crop.
