Sow lady's finger in this way, there will be more yield

Bhindi has a special place among green vegetables. In our country, okra is cultivated in an area of about 490 thousand hectares. Due to which about 5830 thousand tonnes of okra is produced per year. It is cultivated on a large scale in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Assam, etc. The month of February-March is best suited for its sowing. Seed quantity

  • For okra cultivation under irrigated condition, 1 to 1.2 kg seed is required per acre of land.

  • In irrigated condition 2 to 2.8 kg of seed is required per acre of field.

  • If you are cultivating hybrid varieties then 2 kg of seed will be required per acre of field.

Field preparation and sowing method

  • Before sowing, it is necessary to make the soil friable and level.

  • For this, first do deep plowing for 1 time and leave it open for a few days. This will destroy the weeds already present in the field.

  • Now do light plowing in the field 2 to 3 times.

  • For good yield, mix 6-8 tonnes of cow dung manure per acre of land.

  • Along with this, 32 kg of nitrogen, 24 kg of phosphorus and 24 kg of potash are required per acre of field.

  • At the time of preparation of the field, add half the amount of nitrogen to the full dose of phosphorus and potash.

  • Divide half the amount of nitrogen in two parts and spray it on the standing crop.

  • Prepare the beds in the field after plowing.

  • Keep a distance of 40 to 45 cm between all the beds.

  • Before sowing, treat the seed with Mancozeb 3 g per kg.

  • Apart from this, 2 grams per kg of seed can be treated with Carbendazim.

  • Transplant in treated seed beds.

  • Sow the seeds at a distance of 15 to 20 cm.

  • The depth of seed should not be more than 2-3 cm while sowing.
