10-12 days before the onset of rainy season i.e. till mid-June is the best time for transplanting nursery prepared plants.
Plants of 20 to 25 days prepared in nursery can be transplanted in the main field.
If 4 to 5 leaves have emerged in each plant then it is ready for transplant.
Transplant two plants at one place. With this, even if one plant is destroyed, there will be no problem of free space due to the other plant.
Planting of one plant at one place can reduce the yield by about 5 percent.
Keep distance according to varieties
Early maturing varieties: Early maturing varieties produce fewer buds than other varieties. Therefore, it is necessary to keep in mind the distance while planting them. Plant the plants in the beds. For early maturing varieties, keep a distance of 6 inches between all beds. Keep a distance of 6 inches between all plants.
Medium and late maturing varieties: For the cultivation of these varieties, keep a distance of 8 inches between all the beds. Keep a distance of 6 inches between all plants.
