Methods of control of sucking insects in watermelon crop

Some sap-sucking pests in watermelon crop

• Mahu: These insects are small in size and have a soft body. Mhow insects are 0.5 to 2 mm long. They suck the juice of leaves. Affected plants show less flowering and plant growth is also hindered. To get rid of this, spray with imidacloprid 1 ml per liter of water.

• Thrips: These insects are 1 to 2 mm in size. Due to group attack, they cause more damage to the crops in less time. Adult insects and larval insects can be seen on the underside of leaves. They suck the juice of leaves. Due to which the leaves start turning. Affected leaves turn yellow. As a result, the growth of plants is hindered. To control this pest, spray 50 ml country hawk in 150 liters of water.
