In the midst of the already ongoing Corona crisis in the country, the life of the farmers of Bihar has been disturbed due to heavy rains and floods. According to the news, this scene of devastation will not stop here. The Meteorological Department has predicted torrential rains till July 30, 2020. Starting from the foothills of the Himalayas, this Monsoon is likely to move southwards from 29 July 2020. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the plains of North-West and Central India on July 27 and 28. By July 30, 2020, the intensity of rainfall is likely to increase over Northwest India over Arabian Sea.
During 28 to 30 July, rain may occur over states like Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Talking about Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, there may be torrential rains during 29 to 31 July. Along with rain, there is a possibility of lightning and thundershowers in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and South Haryana.
In Bihar, about 12 districts are in the grip of floods and till now there are reports of about 10 lakh people being affected by the floods. These figures may increase in the coming days.
