Jute is one of the most important crops. It is used for manufacturing various items like green fodder, green manure and rope. The height of its plants is 14-15 feet above the ground surface. Before cultivating jute, know some major varieties.
There are mainly two types of jute - capsularis and oleitorius. There are many varieties of these two varieties.
Capsularis: It is also called white jute. The month of February to March is best suited for its sowing. Its leaves are bitter in taste.

J.R.C. 321 : It is one of the quick maturing species. It can be harvested in the month of July after sowing it in February-March. It is best for areas with early rainfall and low land.
J.R.C. 212: After sowing in March-April, you can harvest it in the month of July and get the crop. It is sown in the middle and upper ground.
Reshma (UPC 94): It can be sown from third week of February to mid-March. It is ready for harvesting about 120 to 140 days after sowing.
Ankit (NDC): It can be cultivated all over India. The time from mid-February to mid-March is suitable for its cultivation.
Apart from this, JRC 698 and NDC in Capsularis variety. Also included are 9102 species.
Olitorius: This variety is also known as Dev and Tosa jute. This variety has more fiber than capsularis. It is sown in April -May.

J.R.O. 632: It is sown in high ground. It is a suitable species for late sowing. Farmers cultivating this variety can get higher yields than other varieties.
Naveen (JRO 524): It is sown from the third week of March to the month of April. It can be harvested after 120 to 140 days of sowing.
Golden Jubilee Tosa ( JRO 66): The month of May-June is the best for sowing this species. After about 100 days of sowing, farmers can harvest it and get the crop.
Apart from this, in Olitorius variety J.R.O. 878 and J.R.O. 7835 species are also included.
