Death of plants: Many times due to the infestation of fungi present in the soil, proper development of plants is not known. As the disease progresses, the plants start drying up, which adversely affects the yield. To avoid this, choose disease free healthy seeds. Before sowing, treat the seed with fungicide , Thiram, Carbandazim etc. Before sowing the field must be deeply plowed once.
Root rot disease: This disease is caused by the fungus Rhizoctonia solani and Rhizoctonia bataticola present in the soil. Plants affected by this disease start drying up. As the disease progresses, the roots of the plants turn brown and black from inside. This disease increases more due to moisture in the environment. To avoid this disease , treat the seed with 2 grams of Carbandazim per kilogram of seed. Treat the soil of the field with 10 kg zinc sulphate per acre. Before sowing, mix cow dung in the field. This reduces the chances of getting disease.
Uktha disease: This disease causes great damage to the cotton crop. Due to this disease, the plants start drying up at a young stage. Even if the plants survive, they do not grow and the flowers also come out small. To protect plants from this disease, mix 1500 grams of urea in 100 liters of water and put it in the roots of plants. Add 1.5 to 2 liters of solution per plant. This process can be repeated at 15 days interval if required.
Alternaria Leaf Spot Disease: In this disease, light brown colored concentric spots are formed on the leaves and finally the leaves dry up and fall. This disease appears and spreads fiercely only when there is excess moisture in the environment , for its prevention, make a solution of 2.5 grams of Antracal or Mancozeb or Copper oxychloride with per liter of water and apply it on the crop 2 to 3 times 10 days. Spray at intervals.
