The pH level of the soil should be 5.5 to 7.5.
Do not cultivate it in heavy soil.
They can also be grown in slightly alkaline and acidic soils.
It is suitable for cultivation in intermediate humid climate for good yield.

After this, prepare pits about 75 cm wide and 75 cm deep at a distance of 4 to 5 meters.
Leave the pits open for a few days.
Fill all the pits with equal quantity of rotted manure and soil.
Before transplanting the plants, add 2 ml of chloropyriphos per liter of water to all the pits.
