Suitable time for cultivation of Kalihari

  • The best time for its cultivation is from mid-June to August.

Seed quantity

  • Kalihari is cultivated by transplanting the bales of the previous crop.

  • Apart from this, it is also cultivated by preparing cheese by sowing seeds.

  • 10 to 12 quintal bales are required for cultivation per acre of land.

suitable soil

  • Loamy sandy soil is best suited for its cultivation.

  • It can also be cultivated in red loam soil.

  • pH of soil The level should be 5.5 to 7.

  • Avoid cultivating it in hard soil.

Method of preparation of field and planting of bales

  • While preparing the field, first do deep plowing for 1 time.

  • After this, make the soil friable by doing light plowing with rotavator 2 to 3 times.

  • Keep a distance of 60 cm between all the rows.

  • Plant to plant distance should be 45 cm.

  • Plant the bales at a depth of 6 to 8 cm.

  • Kalihari plants do not require much irrigation.

  • Irrigate at an interval of 3 to 4 days at the time of fruit ripening.
