Urad is one of the important pulse crops. Its cultivation improves the fertilizer capacity of the soil and also increases the amount of nitrogen in the soil. About 25 percent protein content is found in urad. Apart from this, many other nutrients are also found in it like calcium, iron, potassium, carbohydrate, fiber, phosphorous, etc. According to statistics, 2210 kg of nitrogen is produced per hectare area from urad cultivation. Due to which 59 thousand tonnes of urea can be supplied per year.
