लेखक - Surendra Kumar Chaudhari | 1/10/2020

Chana crop does not require much irrigation. Along with this, the amount of nitrogen in the soil of the field is also balanced. India accounts for 70% of the world's gram production. If you are going to cultivate gram in this Rabi season, then get information about the ideal conditions for its cultivation from here.

  • It can be cultivated in many types of soil.

  • Sandy soil or clay soil is best suited for good yield.

  • It can be successfully cultivated even in loamy soil and clay soil.

  • Take special care that the pH level of the soil should be between 5.5 to 7.

  • Select land with good drainage for its cultivation.

  • If the drainage is not good, there is a risk of crop failure.

  • Along with this, it should not be cultivated in saline or salt land.

  • Cultivate it in cool areas to get good yield.

  • Excess rainfall proves harmful for the crop.

  • If it rains at the time of flowering, the flowers start falling. This causes heavy damage to the crop.

  • Avoid cultivating gram every year in the same field.

  • Along with this, to maintain the fertilizer capacity of the soil and to protect the plants from the outbreak of many diseases and pests, adopt crop rotation.
