Garlic: Measures to control wet rot disease

The use of garlic is not limited to spices in the kitchen. It also has a special place in Ayurveda. Small garlic plants rich in many medicinal properties are destroyed due to wet rot disease. See the symptoms of this deadly disease and ways to protect plants from this disease from here.

cause of disease

  • This disease occurs due to favorable weather, extreme cold and excess moisture.

symptom of disease

  • The roots of the diseased plants start rotting.

  • Plants die as the disease progresses.

  • This disease usually occurs in nurseries or in small plants.

preventive measures

  • To avoid this disease, do not allow water logging in nursery and in main field.

  • Make proper drainage system.

  • At about 24 hours before sowing, treat seed with 2.5 gm Carbendazim or Thiram per kg.

  • After this also treat with 2 grams of Trichoderma viridi per kg of seed.
