For the cultivation of cowpea, treat the seeds in this way

Seeds should be treated before sowing cowpea seeds. By treating the seeds, we can save the crop from many harmful diseases. Along with this we can also get high quality crop. So let's talk about the method of treating cowpea seeds.

  • Before sowing seeds, treatment with 2.5 gm Amisan-6 or Carbendazim 50% WP 2 gm per kg of seed gives good crop.

  • Apart from this, you should also treat with 2 grams of Thiram and 1 gram of Carbendazim per kilogram of seed.

  • Seed treatment with Thiram and Carbendazim prevents many fungal diseases.

  • It is necessary to treat the seeds with Rhizobium culture before sowing.

  • Per kg seed should be treated with 10 g of Rhizobium culture.

  • Do not spend much time in sowing culture treated seeds.

  • About 8 to 10 kg of seeds are required for cultivation per acre of land.

  • On the other hand, if you are cultivating for green manure and fodder, then you will need about 12 to 14 kg of seeds per acre of land.

By treating the seeds according to the method given in this post, you can get disease free and good yield of cowpea.
