लेखक - Surendra Kumar Chaudhari | 11/12/2020

The Bihar government has made a big announcement to promote horticulture. Now 50 to 90% subsidy will be given to the farmers of the state under the Chief Minister Horticulture Mission. Along with this, subsidy for bee box and bee colony will also be given to farmers engaged in mushroom cultivation, cultivation of aromatic plants, floriculture and bee keeping. Apart from this, a provision of subsidy has also been made on plastic carats and plastic tunnels.

It is worth noting that this subsidy has been decided on a first come first serve basis. Simply put, the farmers who applied for the subsidy first would be able to avail it first. To take advantage of this scheme, one has to register on the DBT portal. Apart from this you can also contact Block Horticulture Office or District Horticulture Office.

What is the maximum subsidy provision for which category?

It is important to keep one thing in mind here that separate subsidy has been fixed for general category farmers and scheduled caste farmers. Subsidy up to a maximum of 70% will be given to the general caste farmers. At the same time, there is a provision of subsidy up to 90% for the farmers belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

How much subsidy will be given for which farming?

Now let's talk about agriculture, where up to 75% subsidy will be given for beekeeping. At the same time, up to 50% subsidy will be given to farmers doing floriculture and cultivating aromatic plants. If the cost of cultivating floriculture and aromatic plants per hectare of land is Rs.40,000, then you can get subsidy up to Rs.20,000.
